Thirty-Seven Hawkeye RedTail Athletes Earn Academic All-Region Honors

Thirty-seven RedTail athletes received Academic All-Region Honors from the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) and Region XI of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). Sports eligible for these honors are men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s cross country, and sports shooting. (First team: 3.5-4.0 GPA, Second team: 3.0-3.49 GPA).

Hawkeye RedTails Track and Field Teams Ranked in First NJCAA National Poll

Both the men’s and women’s track and field teams at Hawkeye Community College were ranked in the top 25 nationally in the first NJCAA Division I rankings of the 2018 indoor track and field season.

The poll from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association placed the RedTail men at #16 and the RedTail women at #19 among the nation’s NJCAA Division I programs. In the Midwest Regional poll, the women were ranked second and the men were ranked fourth.

This is the first year of intercollegiate competition for the RedTail Track and Field program, which is led by head coach Micah Ruroden and assistant coach Tyler Mulder.
